What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a highly concentrated blood sample containing isolated platelets and plasma cells. It can help regenerate and heal tissue by recruiting cells to an area of injury to clean up dead/injured cells and releasing proteins called 'Growth Factors' to aid tissue regeneration.
You are using your own blood to heal yourself!
What is involved in PRP?
If your pet has been determined as a candidate for PRP treatment, we will take a small amount of your pet's blood and process it using our specialized centrifuge that concentrates both platelets and plasma. Once the PRP processing is complete- the PRP sample is injected directly into the injured area.
What can you use PRP for?
PRP can be used for multiple issues, including Osteoarthritis, Acute and Chronic Soft Tissue Injuries, Tendon Injuries, Ligament Injuries, Muscle Injuries, and certain Spinal Conditions.
How long until you see improvement in your pet?
Many veterinarians have noted that PRP therapy's therapeutic effects last between 6-12 months. Every pet is different!
