Jeffrey D. Wood, DVM
Dr Jeff Wood is a Hillsdale native. He attended two years at Lake Superior State and then transferred to Michigan State University to receive his Bachelors degree in Medical Technology in 1986 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1990. After 4 years as part owner of Hillsdale Veterinary Hospital, he built Northside Veterinary Hospital in 1995, so that he could achieve his goal of providing a state of the art facility, equipment and staff to the area. He is married to Emily and has three children. They spend time with their cats, Tabby, Digit, Mickie and Iffy, as well as their dog Bobbie and horses Misty and Titan, as well as 15 chickens. He enjoys spending quality time with his family and traveling.
Alison Van Zant, DVM
Dr. Alison Van Zant is a 2004 graduate of Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the staff of Northside in 2012. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include wellness visits, care of geriatric patients, and feral cat management. She is a member of the AVMA and the Michigan VMA. She resides in Hillsdale with her husband, Jeff, their four children, three dogs (Jack, Sam, and Rosie), and four cats (Boo Boo, Amos, Beanie, and Little Bit). Outside of work, she enjoys a busy life with her family, planting flowers and reading.
Roni Jo Roth, DVM
Dr. Roni Jo Roth first began working at Northside in 2007. A Hillsdale native, she graduated from Hillsdale High School in 2008 and then earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hillsdale College. She then graduated from Michigan State University and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2017. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include endocrine diseases, ultrasonography, general surgery, and dermatology. Roni Jo lives with her fiancé, Ted, and her Doberman Pinscher, Lincoln. Outside of work, Roni is an accomplished equestrian and enjoys showing in all-around events with the Pinto Horse Association of America.
